News from Beech Hill Memorial Hall

The Memorial Hall played host to the annual village barbecue on July 14th when villagers came together, dodging the showers for a sizzling feast of locally prepared food. Gill Grahame and John and Iris Wait organised the event which everyone adjudged to be a roaring success.

The new Beech Hill Memorial Hall completed its first full year of operations in February, and the overall impression is that the new building has proved to be a runaway success story.  The level of usage has increased enormously and the range of events it hosts is much greater than in the old hall. 

Over a hundred people turned out on Saturday August 6th 2011 to mark the official opening of the new Beech Hill Memorial Hall.Many were specially invited guests, singled out because of the outstanding contributions they have made to the fundraising and building, either through donating money, time or services, resulting in successful completion of this community project.

Over 80 people attended a fish and chip supper in the memorial hall organised by Iris Wait on June 18th.

A small group of villagers organised a special village tea to celebrate the Royal Wedding.
